Ford's Everest SUV has been graced with the Ranger ute's 'Wildtrak' makeover. This revamp showcases a pronounced off-road aesthetic complemented by modest technological enhancements.
Originally unveiled in New Zealand, the 2024 Ford Everest Wildtrak is finally destined for Australian shores. With its pricing set at $73,090 before on-road costs, the highly-anticipated SUV is expected to land in Australian dealerships in the third quarter of 2023.
This exclusive edition of the SUV settles comfortably in the Everest range, situating itself between the turbo-diesel V6 Sport and Platinum versions. It draws its power from a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine that churns out a potent 184kW and an impressive 600Nm of torque. This powertrain is perfectly coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a dedicated four-wheel-drive system for an optimal balance of power and control.
Adding a touch of unique styling, the Wildtrak introduces a distinct grille and front bumper design, setting itself apart from the regular models. Its bodywork sports exclusive Wildtrak badging, while Bolder Grey highlights add an aesthetic touch to the wheel lip mouldings, fender vents, and mirror caps. A first for Everest models, the Wildtrak arrives in the Ranger Wildtrak's hallmark Luxe Yellow exterior finish.
Inside, the cabin offers a contrast of ebony leather upholstery adorned with Cyber Orange stitching. The vehicle rolls on standard 20-inch Asphalt Matt Black machined-face alloy wheels shod with all-season tyres. However, customers also have the option of 18-inch Bolder Grey alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres at no additional cost.
While comprehensive details regarding its specifications will be revealed closer to the SUV's launch, Ford Australia has confirmed several premium features for the Everest Wildtrak. These include 10-way power driver's seat with memory, an eight-way power passenger's seat, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, exterior zone lighting, and a surround-view camera.
Instead of the Platinum's 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, the Wildtrak is expected to retain the standard 8.0-inch screen. Interestingly, Ford has swiftly expanded the Everest line-up since its launch just a year ago, featuring not only the Wildtrak special edition but also a four-cylinder 4×2 variant of the Everest Sport.
Slated for Australian arrival between July and September 2023, the Ford Everest Wildtrak is set to bring the popular Ranger Wildtrak ute's flair to its SUV counterpart. With styling cues including a unique front bumper with darker accents, LED fog lamps, and black wheel-arch flares, the 2024 Ford Everest Wildtrak is bound to catch the attention of Australian SUV enthusiasts.
