The H6 Lux Hybrid is now the cheapest hybrid-powered SUV in Haval’s Australian range
The Australian portfolio of Haval, the luxury subsidiary of Great Wall Motors, is flourishing with the latest addition - the 2023 GWM Haval H6 Lux Hybrid. This cost-effective hybrid variant comes with an attractive price tag starting from $42,490 drive-away, providing customers with an alternative to the pricier H6 Ultra Hybrid and a more advanced version compared to the regular petrol-powered H6 Lux.
Powered by a hybrid system that combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 130kW electric motor, the H6 Lux Hybrid features a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) that channels power to the front wheels. It delivers a combined output of 179kW and 530Nm, offering significantly better fuel efficiency - 5.2 litres per 100km (on 91 RON regular unleaded) - compared to the 7.4L/100km recorded by the Haval H6 2.0T FWD on the combined cycle.
Design-wise, the H6 Lux Hybrid mirrors the look of its higher-end sibling, the Ultra HEV, with a distinct front grille, rear centre brake lights, and hybrid badging. However, it rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels, the same as those fitted on the H6 Lux with a petrol engine.
Comprehensive safety technologies accompany the H6 Lux Hybrid, featuring adaptive cruise control with stop/go, intelligent cornering control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane centring assist, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, and a rear collision warning among others. These features help to ensure that the driving experience is as safe as it is comfortable.
Alongside these features, the H6 Lux Hybrid comes with a high level of creature comforts such as 'Comfort-tek' faux leather seats (heated in the first row), a 10.25-inch digital dash, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, an eight-speaker sound system and anti-glare rear view mirrors.
Reflecting Haval's commitment to its customers, the H6 Lux Hybrid enjoys a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty along with five years of roadside assistance and capped-price servicing. The hybrid battery components come with an even longer warranty, spanning eight years.
With an impressive ANCAP safety rating of five stars, the H6 Lux Hybrid provides a safe, economical, and enjoyable drive. This addition to the Haval line-up enhances the brand's competitive edge in the hybrid vehicle market, offering a cheaper alternative to models like the Toyota RAV4 hybrid. The 2023 GWM Haval H6 Lux Hybrid is now available in Australia, and its introduction signifies another step in Haval's strategy to expand its range of New Energy Vehicles (NEV).
