2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia pricing and specification announced for facelifted sedan
The updated Giulia will be landing in Australia in June, in Ti and Veloce forms, with the range-topping Quadrifoglio arriving later

Alfa Romeo has unveiled the pricing and specifications for its revamped Giulia sports sedan, which is expected to hit Australian dealerships starting in June this year. The baseline Giulia Ti will be priced from $68,450 before on-road costs, while the mid-tier Veloce model will start from $74,950 excluding on-road charges.

The Giulia is set to continue its competition with luxury midsize sedans such as the Audi A4, the BMW 3-Series, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Alfa Romeo Australia is yet to reveal the pricing for the top-of-the-range Quadrifoglio variant, which is slated to arrive at Australian dealerships between October and December of this year. Given that the Veloce model retains its current pricing, it's plausible that the refreshed Giulia Quadrifoglio may retain its previous price of $151,700 before on-road costs.

Externally, the Giulia maintains the familiar aesthetic of its predecessor. The subtle changes are concentrated in the front of the sedan, which includes new matrix LED headlights and a refreshed finish on the three front air intakes. The 19-inch alloy wheels, standard on both the Ti and Veloce variants, are a carryover from the previous model. The Veloce variant also features red brake calipers, a dark front bezel, and a unique rear diffuser.

Internally, the Giulia retains most features from the pre-facelift model. The standout change is the new 12.3-inch digital cluster situated behind the steering wheel. This is coupled with an 8.8-inch infotainment display that supports wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and comes with integrated satellite navigation.

Heated seats, dual-zone climate control, and a wireless phone charger are standard features. A sunroof, available as an optional addition for both models, comes at a $2700 premium over the base price. The Veloce variant enhances its offerings with sport seats, aluminum shift paddles, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

Under the hood, both the Ti and Veloce models are powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine, delivering 206kW and 400Nm of power, exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Giulia Veloce benefits from the addition of a limited-slip differential, maximizing its performance capabilities.

Continuing with the safety features, both the Ti and Veloce models of the Giulia are well-equipped with a range of active safety technologies. These include autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and numerous other driver-assist features, ensuring a safer and more confident drive.

Both variants also include a rear-view camera and parking sensors as standard. This suite of safety measures is designed to make manoeuvring easier and safer, enhancing the driver's visibility and awareness of their surroundings.

As for performance, the Giulia continues to shine. The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine offers a dynamic and responsive driving experience. The limited-slip differential in the Veloce variant further enhances its handling, offering improved stability and traction, particularly in challenging driving conditions.

On the inside, comfort and convenience are key. The new digital instrument cluster offers a clear, easy-to-read display, putting all vital information directly in the driver's line of sight. The updated infotainment system offers seamless integration with smartphones, ensuring connectivity on the go.

The interior also features high-quality materials and comfort-focused features. Heated seats provide an added touch of luxury on chilly days, while the dual-zone climate control ensures a comfortable environment for all passengers. The optional sunroof offers an airy, open feel to the cabin, allowing natural light to flood in.

In conclusion, the updated Alfa Romeo Giulia combines performance, luxury, and style in one compelling package. With its competitive pricing and a generous list of standard features, it stands as a strong contender in the premium midsize sedan segment. With its imminent arrival at Australian dealerships, prospective buyers should prepare to be impressed.
