2024 Polestar 2 price and specs revealed, now $4,000 more expensive
The revamped Polestar 2 lineup comes with expanded standard features and significant mechanical upgrades. However, these enhancements come with a price hike across all models.

Polestar has revealed the updated pricing structure for its enhanced Polestar 2 lineup, indicating an increase between $3000 and $4000 across all models. The price adjustments align with substantial upgrades in vehicle mechanics, encompassing longer driving ranges, faster charging times, and the introduction of new electric motors. The latter modification means that two-wheel-drive variants will now transition from front- to rear-wheel drive.

Scheduled local deliveries are set to commence from August.

Notably, the Polestar 2 lineup also sees an extensive boost in standard safety features. Every model will now include blind-spot monitoring and assistance, cross-traffic alert and assistance, reverse autonomous emergency braking, and a surround-view camera as standard offerings. Adaptive cruise control, however, remains an optional extra.

Standard features across all models now include a wireless phone charger and auto-dimming exterior mirrors. Additionally, a new 20-inch forged alloy wheel design has been introduced for the optional Performance Pack, aesthetically aligning the car with the forthcoming Polestar 3.

Visual updates for 2024 are otherwise subtle and include a body-coloured front grille echoing the style of the Polestar 3 SUV. This grille houses a majority of the vehicle's sensors. A new set of 20-inch wheels for the Performance Pack has also been introduced, designed to mirror the 22-inch alloys of the Polestar 3 Performance Pack.

The Long Range Single Motor matches the new rear electric motor with a larger 82kWh gross/78kWh usable battery, compared to the previous 78kWh gross/75kWh usable battery. This model claims to reach 0-100km/h in 6.2 seconds and promises a driving range of up to 654km.

At the top end, the Long Range Dual Motor utilizes the larger battery alongside dual electric motors. Now, more power is directed to the rear wheels, reaching 310kW and 740Nm, compared to the previous 300kW and 660Nm. This model achieves 0-100km/h in a claimed 4.5 seconds and offers up to 591km of driving range.

With the Performance Pack upgrade, priced at $9000, Long Range Dual Motor buyers can expect power to jump to 350kW, and 0-100km/h acceleration time to drop to 4.2 seconds.

Energy Efficiency

The Polestar 2 supports DC fast-charging at up to 135kW for the 69kWh battery and 205kW for the 82kWh battery. AC power charging is available up to 11kW for both battery sizes.

WLTP energy consumption is as follows: Standard Range Single Motor: 14.8-15.9kWh/100km Long Range Single Motor: 14.9-15.8kWh/100km Long Range Dual Motor: 16.0-17.2kWh/100km
