2023 Lexus UX300e price and spec, larger battery to provide 450km driving range
42 percent more range, 33 percent bigger battery – but 10 percent higher prices for this year’s Lexus UX300e upgrade

The 2023 Lexus UX300e, the brand's compact electric SUV, has been revitalized with improved range, updated interior design, and an augmented price structure. The vehicle is expected to arrive in dealerships in June 2023.

The previous 54.4kWh battery pack has been replaced with a 72.8kWh variant, increasing the projected range by an impressive 135km. Furthermore, the cabin is now more technologically advanced and user-friendly, with a larger infotainment touchscreen, USB-C ports, and wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility. This vehicle also boasts an integrated satellite navigation system that utilizes real-time data for traffic and parking.

Taking a cue from the rest of Lexus lineup, the UX300e now features an over-the-air update capable infotainment system and a voice-controlled 'Hey Lexus' functionality that handles everything from multimedia to vehicular operations such as the sunroof.

For the 2023 model, the center console and instrument binnacle have been redesigned to accommodate a larger wireless charging pad for smartphones. Additional spot welds have been implemented to fortify the chassis, in line with the UX200 and UX250h models, while the electronic power steering, shock absorbers, and brakes have been fine-tuned.

The pricing for the 2023 Lexus UX300e Luxury stands at $79,990, while the Sports Luxury variant is priced at $88,490, excluding on-road costs.

The propulsion for the UX300e comes from a front-axle mounted electric motor, delivering 150kW power and 300Nm of torque. The 2023 model gets a significant efficiency boost with the upgraded 72.8kWh battery pack, enhancing its range to 450km on the WLTP combined test cycle from the previous 315km.

The UX300e measures 4495mm in length, 1840mm in width, and 1525mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2640mm, providing a sizable 414 liters of boot space with the rear seats up.

The Lexus model line comes with a five-year, unlimited-kilometer warranty, with an additional 10-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty on the battery if its storage capacity falls under 70 percent. For the first five services, capped-price servicing is available at $295 per visit, with intervals of 12 months or 15,000 kilometers.

The UX300e offers a three-year subscription to the Encore Platinum Electrified program, providing vehicle loans, valet parking vouchers at selected locations, and free charging at ChargeFox public stations for three years. Purchasers of the UX300e also get a professionally-installed AC home charger from JET Charge included.

On the safety front, the Lexus UX300e holds a five-star ANCAP safety rating. Its safety features include AEB with pedestrian/daytime cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane trace assist, traffic sign recognition, and more. The UX300e Sports Luxury variant offers additional features such as tri-beam LED headlights, adaptive high-beam, and surround-view cameras.

In summary, the 2023 Lexus UX300e is a sophisticated electric SUV offering improved range, advanced interior features, and a comprehensive safety suite. This model is expected in showrooms from June 2023.
