Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2023: tyre pressure monitoring and new exterior colours come to large SUV
The Pajero Sport is now a little bit smarter than before, with pricing for the SUV increasing by up to $1000 compared to 2022

In 2023, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport greets fans with novel shades and some slight tweaks in its specification, along with modest bumps in its price. The price tags on all 2023 models show an increase ranging from $500 to $1000. However, models like the GLS, Exceed, and GSR now flaunt a standard-fit tyre pressure monitoring feature.

The updated roster starts production in February 2023 and will be ready to grace dealerships in April. The GLS and Exceed variants now sport an Impulse Blue hue, while the top-of-the-line GSR features a striking Terra Rossa exterior complemented by a black roof.

Meanwhile, the heart of the Pajero Sport remains untouched. Based on the current Triton, the Pajero Sport is believed to be in the twilight of its life cycle, as spy shots of the next-generation ute have surfaced.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, delivering 133kW of power and 430Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The GLX and GLS variants come with the option of either rear- or four-wheel drive.

The Pajero Sport's fuel consumption on the ADR combined city and highway cycle is rated at 8.0L/100km, backed by a 68L fuel tank.

Measurements for the 2023 model are 4825mm in length, 1835mm in height, and 1815mm in width, with a 2800mm wheelbase. The base GLX's luggage space expands to 1575L with all back seats down from 502L with all seats in place.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport requires servicing every 12 months or 15,000km, the first of the two to occur. Mitsubishi extends the standard five-year or 100,000km warranty to 10 years or 200,000km for customers who patronize their dealerships for each service.

Safety-wise, the Pajero Sport boasts a five-star ANCAP rating dating back to 2015, rooted in its mechanical kinship with the Triton ute. The Exceed and GSR models come with additional safety features, including blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view camera, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Prices for the 2023 line-up kick-off at $44,940 plus on-road costs for the Pajero Sport GLX 4x2, an increase of $500. The 4x4 variant fetches an extra $5000, priced from $49,950 plus on-road costs.

The Pajero Sport GLS, the entry-point for seven-seaters, now starts at $50,190 plus on-road costs for the 4x2 and $55,190 for the 4x4 - a $1000 uptick from the 2022 model.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is scheduled to hit Australian showrooms in April.
